Donovan Mitchell and Coco Jones are married.

The Cleveland Cavaliers guard and the Grammy-nominated R&B singer tied the knot Saturday in a private ceremony surrounded by close friends and family. The guest list read like an NBA All-Star Weekend invite: Jaylen Brown and Bam Adebayo were both there, alongside power couple Ciara and Russell Wilson.

Their first dance went viral almost immediately. Mitchell and Jones chose “Love” by Musiq Soulchild – the slow-burning 2000 R&B classic – to open the floor. Agent Troy Payne shared the video on Instagram Sunday morning. Within hours it had been picked up by ESPN, TMZ, Bleacher Report and virtually every entertainment outlet with a sports desk.

A timeline

The couple went public in 2023. Jones, who first gained national attention through Disney Channel, has spent the past two years establishing herself as one of R&B’s most compelling voices – earning a Grammy nomination earlier this year. Their engagement followed in July 2025, about twelve months before Saturday’s ceremony.

Mitchell turns 30 in September and is heading into a contract year in Cleveland. Off the court, it was a different kind of milestone.

The NBA contingent

Brown’s attendance stood out – he’s now a 76er after the blockbuster trade with Philadelphia involving Paul George. Adebayo remains one of the anchors in Miami following the Giannis Antetokounmpo deal. Both men made the trip to celebrate a colleague. The full guest list hasn’t been officially confirmed, but multiple reports indicate other NBA figures were also present.

Ciara and Russell Wilson, regulars at high-profile athlete events, rounded out a crowd that bridged professional sports and the entertainment world.

Bottom line

Mitchell has been one of the NBA’s most visible and likable personalities since his rookie campaign in 2018. His wedding to Jones – one of the most-watched artists of the past two years – is the kind of crossover moment that reminds you the NBA offseason never really stops. Congratulations to the couple.
