De’Aaron Fox Bounces Back as Spurs Dominate Timberwolves in Game 2

De'Aaron Fox and Victor Wembanyama led the Spurs to a 133-95 demolition of Minnesota in Game 2, evening the series at 1-1.

After his lowest-scoring output of this playoff run in Game 1, De’Aaron Fox came into Wednesday’s matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves with something to prove — and he delivered.

San Antonio made their intentions clear from the opening possession: a Victor Wembanyama screen at the top of the key to free Fox from the pressure of Jaden McDaniels. The left-hander attacked the rim aggressively, a stark contrast to Game 1 where he had waited nearly ten minutes before attempting his first shot.

That tone-setting aggression proved contagious. The Spurs went on to blitz the Wolves 133-95, with Wembanyama contributing 19 points, 15 rebounds and 2 blocks, while seven San Antonio players reached double figures. The blowout evened the series at 1-1.

« We came in with a different level of energy and focus tonight, » Fox said after the game. « We knew we had to respond. »
