The Spurs are getting healthier heading into Sunday’s Game 4. Oklahoma City faces a different kind of uncertainty.

De’Aaron Fox (ankle) and Dylan Harper (adductor) are both expected to play for San Antonio in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals, per Spurs head coach Mitch Johnson. Jalen Williams (hamstring) remains questionable for Oklahoma City. The Thunder lead the series 2-1. Tip-off is at 8 p.m. ET at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, with NBC broadcasting.

Injury Status – Game 4 (May 24)

  • Jalen Williams (OKC) – Hamstring – Questionable
  • De’Aaron Fox (SAS) – Ankle – Expected to play
  • Dylan Harper (SAS) – Adductor – Expected to play

Fox returns, but at what cost?

Fox made his series debut in Game 3 after sitting out Games 1 and 2 with a right ankle sprain. He put up 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists – solid numbers – but the Spurs still lost 123-108 as Oklahoma City’s bench erupted for a conference finals record 76 points. Fox left briefly in the third quarter after a setback but came back and was not restricted. Johnson said Saturday he expects his point guard available on Sunday.

Harper, San Antonio’s 20-year-old rookie star, was cleared to play after leaving Game 2 with an adductor strain. He saw limited minutes in Game 3 but is expected to have a fuller role in Game 4.

Williams: the question mark that won’t go away

Oklahoma City knows what it looks like without Williams – it won Game 3 by 15. Jared McCain scored 24 off the bench, Jaylin Williams added 18, and Alex Caruso chipped in 15 as the Thunder showed remarkable depth. But Williams, who originally suffered a Grade 1 left hamstring strain in the first round against Phoenix, re-aggravated the same injury in Game 2. He was ruled out for Game 3 entirely.

His status for Sunday has not been confirmed. If he plays at any meaningful capacity, OKC’s offensive ceiling looks very different. If he’s out again, the Thunder lean on their bench – and that has worked well so far.
